About Indianapolis Garage Door Pros

Indianapolis winters can cause metal springs and hardware to contract while cold temperatures may thicken lubricants and increase operating friction. Road salt and moisture can also contribute to corrosion. A fall maintenance visit can help prepare the system by checking seals, lubrication, balance and hardware before freezing weather arrives.

Professional garage door maintenance should generally be scheduled at least once a year. For Indianapolis homeowners, a late fall inspection can help prepare the system for freezing temperatures and winter conditions. Maintenance typically includes checking balance, tightening hardware, inspecting moving components, lubricating appropriate parts and testing essential safety features.

This problem often results from misaligned safety sensors, blocked sensor lenses or an obstruction in the door's path. Cobwebs, snow, dirt and direct sunlight can interfere with the infrared beam. Clean the lenses and check their alignment, persistent reversing may require professional inspection of the wiring, settings or opener.
